Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

• Account information: your name, email address and password (stored hashed) when you sign up with email, or your name, email address and profile picture from Google or Apple when you sign in with them.
• Profile photo: a picture you choose from your photo library. We only access the photos you select.
• App content and preferences: the prayers and fasts you log, Quran bookmarks, reading progress, reminder settings, language and prayer calculation method.
• Onboarding answers: what you tell us when you set up Noor, such as your goals, what you would like help with and how you pray today, how you heard about Noor, and, if you choose to share them, your gender and age range. Gender and age range are optional, and you can pick "prefer not to say" for age range. These answers are saved to your account so the app can be set up for you, and we look at them in aggregate to understand who uses Noor.
• Support requests: the email address and messages you send us when you contact support.
• Location: with your permission, your device location (or a city you pick) to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. Location is used only while you use the app; we do not track your location in the background and we do not store it on our servers. To get prayer times, the app sends coordinates rounded to about 1 km to AlAdhan, and when you search for a city, the text you type goes to OpenStreetMap. See Service Providers below.
• Notification token: a push notification token for your device so we can send the prayer reminders you enable.
• Purchase information: if you subscribe to Noor Premium, the status of your subscription. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never receive your card details.
• Usage data: anonymous events about how the app is used, such as screens opened and onboarding steps. See Usage Analytics below.
• Crash and performance data: crash reports, error details and a sample of performance measurements. See Crash Reporting below.

If you use Noor as a guest without an account, your prayer log and settings stay on your device and are not sent to our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information only to operate the app: to maintain your account, sync your prayer history across devices, calculate prayer times and the Qibla, send the reminders you choose, unlock premium features, provide support and keep the service secure. We also measure which of our ads bring people to Noor, as described below. We never use your prayer or fasting logs, Quran activity or onboarding answers for advertising.

Usage Analytics

To improve Noor, the app sends us anonymous usage events, such as "opened Qibla", "onboarding step viewed" or "paywall viewed", with a random install ID, your platform and the app version. They are not linked to your account and never include your name, email, prayer records, answers, location or advertising ID. We keep them for up to 14 months. You can turn this off anytime in the app under Settings → Privacy & Security → "Share anonymous usage".

Crash Reporting

To find and fix problems, the app sends crash reports and error details to Sentry, together with the app version, your device model and operating system version, and a random installation ID. It also sends timing measurements from a sample of app sessions so we can see where the app is slow. These reports are not linked to your account and never include your name, email, IP address, prayer records, answers or location. Sentry keeps them for up to 90 days.

Ad Measurement

We advertise Noor on Facebook and Instagram. To learn which ads work, the app uses the Meta SDK to tell Meta when Noor is installed and opened, and RevenueCat tells Meta when a free trial starts or a subscription is purchased or renewed. These events can include your device's advertising identifier and an app-specific Meta identifier. They never include your name, email address, prayer or fasting logs, or anything else you record in Noor.

• iPhone: Noor asks for permission before tracking (App Tracking Transparency). If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", no advertising identifier is collected and Meta receives only aggregated, non-identifying measurements. You can change this anytime in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
• Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device's Google or Privacy settings at any time.

Service Providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run Noor. They process data only on our behalf and only for the purposes below:

• AlAdhan (prayer time service, api.aladhan.com and its mirrors): receives your coordinates, rounded to about 1 km, to calculate prayer times. No account details are sent.
• OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): receives the place name you type when you search for a city. No account details are sent.
• Sentry (sentry.io, EU region): receives crash reports, error details and a sample of performance measurements, as described in Crash Reporting. No account details or IP addresses are sent.
• Google: sign-in with Google, Google Play payments, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for delivering notifications on Android.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple, App Store payments and push notification delivery on iOS.
• Expo: app updates and push notification delivery.
• RevenueCat: manages subscription status for Noor Premium and reports trial and purchase events to Meta for ad measurement.
• Railway and Cloudflare: hosting for our servers, database and stored profile photos.
• Meta (Facebook): measures installs, app opens, trials and purchases from our ads, as described in Ad Measurement.

These providers may process data on servers outside your country. We only use providers that protect data in transit and at rest.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties except with the service providers listed above (including Meta for ad measurement), when required by law, or to protect the security of the platform and our users.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Settings → Account → Delete Account. This deletes your account and sign-in details, profile photo, prayer and fasting logs, Quran bookmarks, onboarding answers, push notification tokens and support requests sent from your account email. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Noor's access to your Apple ID. See Delete your account for step-by-step instructions.

Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you or get a copy of it;
• correct your name, email or profile photo (you can do most of this in the app under Settings → Edit Profile);
• delete your account and data, as described above;
• withdraw consent at any time: turn off analytics in the app, deny tracking or location in your device settings, or disable notifications.

To make a request, email us at noorpraytracker@gmail.com from the address linked to your account. We respond within 30 days.

Data Security

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and we apply standard security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Subscriptions

Noor offers an optional Noor Premium subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, and we receive only the information needed to confirm your subscription status.

Children

Noor is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when necessary. The date at the top shows the latest version. If significant changes occur, we will notify you through the app or other appropriate means.
